Pre-arranged Sparring (Model Sparring)

Two competitors perform a choreographed 2-step or 3-step self-defence sequence. Judged on realism, technique and control - not full contact.

Judged Criteria

  • Realism: distance, timing and target credibility.
  • Variety: use of a broad range of hand, foot and self-defence techniques.
  • Power and control: focused techniques stopped with visible control.
  • Choreography: flow, entry and finishing posture.

Deductions

  • Uncontrolled contact or injury: major deduction or DQ.
  • Broken flow / hesitation: minor deduction.

Methods of Victory

  • Higher aggregate judges' score wins.
  • Ties resolved by an additional sequence.
