ITF Regulations
Individual Pattern (Tul)
Two competitors perform a designated tul on the mat at the same time. A panel of judges scores each performance; the higher aggregate score wins.
Judged Criteria (each judge 0.0 - 10.0)
- Technical content: correct stances, blocks, strikes and sequence.
- Power: sine wave, hip vibration, breath control.
- Balance: stability through transitions and finishing positions.
- Rhythm: correct tempo, pauses and continuous / connecting moves.
Deductions
- Missed movement or stopping mid-pattern: major deduction.
- Starting from the wrong stance or facing the wrong direction: deduction.
- Finishing off the starting spot: minor deduction.
Methods of Victory
- Higher aggregate score across all judges wins.
- In case of a tie the referee may call an additional tul.
